Metal zipper is a zipper with its binding edges consisting of individual pieces of metal that are molded into shape and set at regular intervals on the zipper tape. Metal zippers are mainly made of brass, nickel and aluminium, and given their durability. They are mostly used in jeans, work-wear, heavy luggage and heavy-duty garments that must withstand high strength and tough washing.
The main production process of metal zipper is as follows:
Weaving tape – Dyeing – Ironing – Making teeth – Assembling tape and teeth – Flattening – Polishing – Teeth electroplating– Waxing – Determining length – Assembling accessories – Cutting– Inspection – Package.
Teeth, slider, tab and stops are usually made of stainless steel, aluminum, brass, zinc, or nickel-silver alloy. As for the teeth shape, Y-cut teeth and normal teeth are the most common types in the market due to the large production capacity and stable quality.
